Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

How do I place an order?

The entire catalog of Diamond Mind software products and pricing can be viewed online at our website and all order and payment processing is handled automatically by our online store. An account is required to place an order and once your order is completed, your files will be delivered via download links sent to the email address associated with your account.

To get started, browse through the site until you find an item that you wish to buy.

From the product page for the item, click the "Add to Cart" button. This will add the item to your order and display your Shopping Cart. From here you can click the "Check Out" button to proceed to enter your customer and payment information or click "Continue Shopping" to add more items.

As you complete each step of the checkout process, the display will change and move you to the next step until, finally, you are prompted to complete your order.

When your order has been confirmed and processed, a confirmation web page will be displayed with instructions on how to download your file(s). This information will also be emailed to you shortly after your order is completed.

Is my account information secure?

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Diamond Mind Baseball does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.

Your credit card information is safely processed on our site. During the checkout process, you will notice the small lock icon located in the address bar of your browser. This represents that you are on a secure page. We take additional precaution by not storing your payment information on our servers.

How will my order be delivered?

When you make a purchase from the Diamond Mind website, you are offered the opportunity to download your file(s) immediately from the order completion page. You are also sent an email shortly after your order has been completed (usually within 30 minutes). The link(s) to download your file(s) can be found in that email. We do not offer delivery on any physical media such as CD or DVD at this time.

How do I get a refund?

We believe Diamond Mind is the most statistically-realistic baseball simulation, and we stand by our products. However, because there is no way to "return" digital products such as downloaded software, any refunds are on the honor system. For that reason, we now offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the Diamond Mind Baseball Game software only. This guarantee DOES NOT apply to season databases and other companion products.

What if I need to replace a file?

The download links associated with an order from the Diamond Mind website are not meant to be permanent nor are they unlimited. Every download link is unique for each order and once generated allows for a one-time download with some leeway added in case of potential browser issues or download errors.

If additional downloads are required, we offer replacement files for the discounted price of $3 upon request.

However, it should not usually be necessary to download your Diamond Mind files more than once since no registration or activation code has ever been required to use any of our software. Furthermore, there is no limit on the number of times you can use your original installation files to install the game or any of your seasons for your personal use.

This allows you to easily make backup copies of all your Diamond Mind software and copy your files between computers using many different methods including a portable hard drive, USB memory stick, or an online file storage service.

To protect your investment and to avoid replacement charges, please be sure to make a backup of all of your Diamond Mind software as soon as possible after downloading your files.

If you cannot find your original game or database installation files and you do not have a backup, you can contact us at dmb_info@imaginesports.com to request replacement files.

How can I view my order history?

Due to a number of changes to Diamond Mind's online store over the years, a complete customer order history from before 2015 is not available for viewing online from our website. However, we do maintain an offline database for reference that includes the customer records from all previous iterations of the online store as well as all orders placed directly by phone, email and the old mail-order forms from the earliest years of business.

You can view the details of your most recent orders (since 2015) on the Order History page by signing in to your account on the Diamond Mind website. Click on the Account icon near the top right of the Diamond Mind website and then enter your email and password when prompted.

Can I play DMB on my Mac computer, Chromebook, iPad or other tablet?

All Diamond Mind software is currently supported only on the Windows operating system. To be able to use the game software and any companion databases, you need to be able to download and install the game on a computer that is running Windows Home or Pro editions.

We do not currently offer a version of our software that is compatible with Mac OS, Chromebook, iPad or any other non-Windows tablet or device.

What are the system requirements?

By today's standards, the system requirements are quite modest. DMB runs on Windows-compatible computers that are equipped as follows:

  • Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 7 Home and Professional editions (32-bit or 64-bit).
  • 800 x 600 or higher resolution
  • 60 MB of drive space plus a minimum of 2-4 MB for each database, which includes the space needed for full year-to-date statistics for all teams and players. You may need as much as 100 MB for a season database if you turn on all of the options to save game-by-game stats, boxscores, scoresheets, and game logs. An additional 75 MB may be needed if you choose to generate website files containing all possible reports for a large league.
  • an active account with an Internet Service Provider (optional, needed only if you want to use the NetPlay feature to play head-to-head over the internet)

Am I able to use my old season databases with a new version?

Yes. We have always had the commitment to maintain your investment in season disks purchased from Diamond Mind. Every new version of the game includes a feature that converts season disks from older formats to the format used by the new version.

For version 12, any season disks that are in version 8 or newer format are automatically converted to the format used for version 12 when you first install them.

NOTE: If you have season databases in formats older than version 8, one option is to use your earlier version of DMB to convert them to version 8 first, then use version 12 to convert them the rest of the way.

We periodically upgrade our older season disks to add new players, add new statistics, add real-life transactions and lineups, and take advantage of new game features. If you own older seasons, you may be eligible for discounted upgrades to those seasons. See Season Disk Upgrades for details.

What park images are available? Will you be doing park images for old-time stadiums?

Version 12 includes scale diagrams for all of the parks that have been used since 1972 and a sampling of parks from prior to 1972. We plan to continue adding diagrams for older parks. New park images are made available for free download via our Ballpark Images page.
